  Wimba software
  Several hundred campuses use it for managing on-line courses and on-line meetings.

  ISIS 9.0 Upgrade
  Organizational chart and timeline of key milestones of the 9.0 upgrade were distributed. Aug. 1st the data will be frozen as well as version 8.9 will be taken down and replaced by 9.0. New version will be up by August 11. Areas improved were indicated.
 
  Course Change Procedure
  Presented proposal to change the current functioning of the course change procedure involves H and ! honors courses. Cancel the election of automatic honors classes. Students can still cancel honors for % courses. Proposal was approved.
 
  Priority Registration
  Would like the subcommittee to be reconstituted. Request by TRIO to have junior priority registration in parallel to AAP. The request was approved by the remaining members in the subcommittee.
 
  Web Content Management
  The committee is looking at software that allows entities to streamline entry of information and updating existing information on complex web pages. An RFP will allow product purchase that will help manage millions of UW-Madison web pages. See more.

  Grade Reporting Analysis - Mid-term six-week
  Data shows that more than half of the grades were not reported in individual courses for first-year students. Advisors rely on early notification of academic problems & are concerned that they are getting less information on how their students are doing.
 
  Course Change Procedures - New
  For credit changes, changes in honors and changes in sections, students will need to print out a course change form from their Student Center and bring that form to their dean's office. If they want to drop after deadline, message to see dean.
 
  Graduation Survey for Undergraduates
  Alumni Association proposed the idea of a point-of-graduation survey for undergraduates. Interest in finding out graduation plans, including residence and employment plans.
 
  Grades - NR
  There is a prevalence of NR grades and the NR grades cause problems. Over 1000 students get NR grades each semester. 98% of instructors submit grades on time, but those that don't create problems for students and staff. Need to search for solutions.

  Grade Change - Electronic
  The process for submitting grade changes electronically through the Faculty Center is now operational. Paper grade changes will still be accepted for years to come.
 
  University Catalog
  Reminder that we will not print a 2009 (or future) university catalog, except as a document of record and to meet legal and accessibility requirements.
 
  Adds/Drops
  Proposal to determine add/drop deadlines for modular courses based on the span (which is less than weeks of instruction if classes meet less than once a week) rather than the weeks of instruction was approved unanimously.
 
  Course Change Request
  Discussion for proposed online Course Change Request process. The concept is to provide a clearer form and process to reduce unnecessary course change forms and improve the accuracy of the data for those cases in which they are needed.

  Applications;Admissions
  Applications are down this year from high school students. Other system campuses are down. There is a change in the application process requesting two essays, which may account for the decrease. There are staffing & technology issues too.
 
  Kauffman Campus II Project
  Project is focused on promoting entrepreneurial thinking on campus and throughout the state. The project has sponsored outreach to students on campus, community events that included Edgewood and MATC and an Earth Day Challenge last spring.
 
  DARS Encoder Subcommittee
  They had to examine the issue of how credits for overlapping courses are being handled. They found: overlaps are punitive to students; schools and colleges do not consistently apply overlap policies; and they are not audited in a consistent fashion.

  Peoplesoft Upgrade
  Peoplesoft Upgrade to 9.0 is proceeding. Listening sessions will be planned for March/April. The actual upgrade will most likely occur in early August 2008.
 
  Class Search
  Class search will make it possible to eliminate the timetable on the web that is available for Spring Semester, but will not be available after that.
 
  Academic Planning and Analysis
  Data was presented from 2 undergraduate surveys. Global satisfaction rated quite high, but some experiences are not rated as highly.
 
  Grade Change - Electronic
  All feedback from schools, colleges and departments was positive. In particular, the departments appear to have supported the approval process go directly from the instructor to the dean. We are trying to get this process ironed out before the upgrade.
 
  Degree Verification
  The current practice of degree verfication policy is the best policy, it is both ethical and consistent with best practices. Any school or college issuing their own letters will assume the risk. For some limited purposes, may continue their practice.

  Threats
  Campus is making efforts to improve response to threats, especially in communication and planning related to threat assessmenet.
 
  NCAA eligibility Requirements
  Discussion about the NCAA eligibility requirements and their impact on student progress and choice of academic programs. Update on new guidelines which requires studnets to make steady progress toward completing a degree.

  Advisor Assignment Batch Process
  The advisor assignment batch process is intended to speed up assignment to simultaneously assign multiple students to the same advisor.
 
  Foreign Language Retro-credits
  There is a pilot project to automate assignment of foreign language retro-credits. The process will automatically post retrocredits earned for completion of upper level language classes. Native speakers will not be eligible for retrocredits.
 
  Grade Change - Electronic
  Preliminary discussion of automating the on-line grade change process. The proposal is to make it possible for instructors to enter a grade change. Departments would be notified of the change, but would not be part of approval process. Acceptable?
 
  Degree Verification
  There have been requests for degree verifcation that letters are wanted well ahead of a student's actual degree conferral guaranteeing that the student will graduate.
 
  Posthumous Degrees
  The policy is that posthoumous degrees are granted at the request of the school or college deans. The guidelines are to make clear that the practice recognizes that the program is near completion.

  Image Now technology
  Enrollment Management project that uses Image Now technology to scan and digitize student records. Joanne Berg advocated to have a centralized image process.
 
  Course Guide Project
  Jim Phelps discussed the Course Guide concept. The concept started from a mandate to have a web page for every course. It evolved into a planning tool that will help students be better informed about course choices.
 
  Task Force, Global Competence
  The Provost has appointed a task force to study how to enhance the "global competence" of our students. It will consist of faculty and staff as well as state government and private sector representatives.

  Re-accreditation self-study planning
  Professor Nancy Matthews briefed AAC on the self-study planning that will culminate in a Spring 2009 site visit by NCA. Questions were presented that will start the process.
 
  L&S curriculum update
  The Degree requirements for L&S have changed. Students matriculating subsequent to May 21 will use the streamlined curriculum. Continuing students may opt to follow new guidelines.
 
  ARTC
  Chris Lee, ARTC chair, reported that his committee had met, and voted to disband as of the end of the Spring 2007 term.

  Study abroad grades
  Jim Steele explained a new procedure to eliminate S grades on student records. Study abroad grades will be changed to P/F so that the S grades do not violate the principle that only S grades can be given in classes that students have elected to take P/F.
 
  Academic Related Technology Committee (ARTC)
  Recommendation to disband the Academic Related Technology Committee (ARTC). AAC will vote on the motion to disband ARTC in May.
 
  Re-entry process
  Michelle Kelley and Mary Schey are collaborating on restructuring the re-entry process. The process only allows students to re-enter the school or college in which they were last enrolled. Additional steps involved if academic review/intnl/2nd degree.
 
  On-line course change form
  Looking into developing the on-line course change form used by schools and colelges to adjust a student's registration. It would be similar to the dean's drop screen. Looking for dean's offices representatives to work on the development of on-line form.

  Student Athletes academic standards, Tracking athlete progress toward a degree
  NCAA's formula for determining if enough athletes are graduating from specific sports. If not, the sport will lose scholarships. New 40-60-80 progress rule states that athletes must have 40% of requirements for specifice degree by third year.
 
  Wisconsin Idea, Kaufmann Entrepreneurship grant,
  The Kaufmann grant will tie in to the Wisconsin Idea campaign. On campus, we will see a residential learning community for new students.
 
  Residential Learning Community
  On campus, we will see a residential learning community for new students; Kaufmann Entrepreneurship grant.

  Parent Program
  Nancy Sanhu provided an update on the new UW-Madiosn Parent Program. She provided information regarding staffing plans.
 
  DOS mission and vision statement
  Kevin Helmpkamp & Aaron Brower presented the new DOS mission and vision statement. Discussion pursued how this vision might affect admissions and how student engagement might better be documented.
 
  Summer six week grade reporting
  Christine Poleski, AAP, proposed to change six week grade reporting so that students who matriculate in summer will receive six week grades.
 
  Automating grade changes
  Initial discussions have occurred regarding autmated grade changes. The problem that presents itself is that making grade changes easy may not be an unmitigated good.

  Advisor Assignments
  There is continued progress toward improving advisor assignments in student records. Advisor data for graduated students is purged and data for many current students has been updated.
 
  Time to graduation study

  Planned elimination of the Timetable on the web

  The University Catalog is in its last printing cycle.

  Transcript Policy, Partial transcript
  Requests to provide "partial transrcipts" for students. Prpoposed partial transcripts would include only a portion of the course work the student has done here. UW-Madison will not provide partial transcripts.
 
  Printed Timetable
  The printed Timetable will be gone as of Fall 2006-07. The summer Timetable will continue to be printed by the Div. of Continuing Studies.
 
  Dean's signature for paper and electronic forms
  Karen outlined the rules regarding which S/C can sign for a student who needs Dean's actions. The student's academic dean must sign.
 
  Pass/Fail, Section Changes
  When students change sections on-line they lose the ok to take a course P/F. Can the process accommodate students being allowed to take the course P/F before approval by advisors, w/ an audit process to follow-up?

  Parent Program
  Campus Information/Visitor's Center charge to create Parents Program. AAC members shared Information about calls, emails from parents; concern for students’ Privacy and responsibility for themselves. This information was used to help plan the program.

  International Student Enrollment Status
  Discussion of what constitutes full time status for international students. Undergrad is 12 credits and the Graduate status is determined by school. There can be exceptions in ISIS>
 
  First Year Experience, 1st Year Experience
  Definition of first year experience and the many aspects that contribute to the 1st year. ONSP needs additional funding to facilitate enhanced first year experience. Support was there to increase SOAR costs.
 
  General Education Requirements, Comm A
  Discussion of Comm A and whether or not a student could receive credits from more than one Comm A course or not. How does it work for a student who transfers in Comm A courses. Would they be able to take another Comm A course here?
 
  Query Library
  The campus moved from a data table security model to a business role based security (Hyperion groups) model for the Query Library. In the new system access to content will be based on a person’s role, not on requesting specific data tables.

  L&S Degree requirements
  L&S Curriculum Committee’s Proposal to Revise the Baccalaureate Degree Requirements for L&S will be presented to the Faculty Senate next Monday. There are several changes to the degree requirements.
 
  SOAR Attendance Policy
  Distribution of new SOAR 2004 Attendance Policy discussed with AAC last summer which indicates how they decide which students do not have to attend the SOAR session. AAC members approved of the new policy
 
  Student Declaration of Major
  A discussion regarding better management with students declaring majors, especially in L&S. A proposal is being developed to include steps to urge students to declare a major.
 
  Withdrawal Policy
  Review of the withdrawal policy and procedures for preventing Graduate students from dropping below a 1 credit minimum.

  Discussion regarding the Transfer Credit process and its need to be reviewed for effectiveness, timeliness, and efficiency. There is a new direction proposed for consideration to evaluate transfer credit software, including a DARS and PeopleSoft software

  Review of services through Student Advocacy/Judicial Affairs including On-Call Dean, guest Lectures, Student Death Notification, and Resources for Faculty.

  Mary provided the AAC with the report from the Transfer Credit Software Committee. She reviewed the committee charge and the summary conclusions
 
  Disability Eligibility
  Review of the major topics in the Determining Disability Eligibility report.

  ISIS Committee Structure, ICCC
  Reviewed ISIS Committee Structure Review and Proposals about ICCC. The committee talked about the broader structure and what they thought the issues were. AAC makes recommendations how technology may impact students.
 
  Transfer Admissions
  Discussion regarding Transfer Admissions. Timing of when the student applies and when the student knows what credits will transfer, limitations of the software and cost of getting the software to work.
 
  Mid-Term Early Warning System, Six weeks grades
  University of MN provided background information about Early Warning System. There seems to be a difference of opinion of what to do, additional discussion required.
 
  ISIS Committee Structure Review, ICCC
  The committee was formed. Issues for the committee were listed.

  Degree Revocation
  See attached copy of "Process for Proceeding with Allegations of Research Misconduct against Graduate Studnets". The steps in the Graduate School's process of dealing with research misconduct are connected with UWS 14.
 
  Transfer Credit Evaluation
  4 primary recommendations: Review rules and policies, increase staff and resources, improve tools and technology, and establish a working group on transfer issues.
 
  Orientation and New Student Programs
  Goals of new office: raise visibility for new students; increase the focus on international transfer; work harder on the University's relationship with parents; the FIGS seminar; seminar or freshman course; 1st year experience; increase assessment
 
  Writing Assessment
  Rob Seltzer announced that there will be a new writing assessment requirement for the freshman class entering in 2006. Admissions will work with high schools to give them advance notice about the change.
 
  Application for admission deadlines
  The Admissions Office is proposing the new deadlines for sprin 2004. Deadlines for freshman, transfer and international students will be Oct. 1 and Feb. 1. Later consideration for targeted students will continue.

  Excess Credits
  Information regarding which students would and would not be affected. Implementation will be Fall 2004. Approximately 25 students will be affected. Students can appeal the Excess Credit surcharge.
 
  ISS, SEVIS (Student Exchange and Visitors Information System)
  See departmental checklist. ISS urges to have admissions decisions made earlier and encourage early enrollment. An ISS fee of $50 has been approved by UW System.

  Degree Revocation
  The committee contacted legal counsel regarding a degree revocation policy. The Academic Misconduct and Non-Academic Misconduct policies will be reviewed to develop a degree revocation policy.
 
  Student Athletes
  NCAA requires that we certify that student athletes can graduate in 5 years. The Big 10 can set higher standards than the NCAA. See attchment of form.
 
  Excess Credits
  See attachments "Policy for Excess Credits" and a packet of various reports showing the numbers and percentages of student having over 165 credits.
 
  Honors
  An extension to the Honors Update Deadline was moved to the end of the 12th week of classes.
 
  Service Indicators
  Service Indicators as displayed to students will show more information. See attachment for examples of new "student view".

  Connections Program
  Copies of the Connections Program were presented.
 
  Military Service Policy, Study Abroad Military Service
  If a student is called up on short notice and goes to the Registrar's office, an administrative withdrawal will be processed. They will notify the school/college after the fact. This might impact students in Study Abroad programs.
 
  Registrar Office Mission
  The Registrar Office Mission is: "To ensure the integrigy of curricular and student records."
 
  Vision of the Registrar's Office
  Visions include: Automate processes, Increase expert base, provide "wow" customer service, that people now & understand what we do, Innovative with technology, and that fiscal plans support the vision.
 
  Query Library
  There are two teams, one for each ongoing process: the Retention team and Student Administrative Process team.

  Dean of Students
  Dean Hong presented information about the Dean of Students’ Vision Statement, Organizational Chart and Commitment to Workplace Climate.
 
  Transfer Credit Processing Policies
  Discussion of the transfer credit process and the length of time it takes to review. AAC formed a subcommittee to review the transfer credit process to make some recommendations.
 
  Degree Revocation
  Discussion to make sure that the schools/colleges have a procedure or model in place shoul a degree revociation be necessary. A Degree Revocatiion subcommittee was formed to look into the situation.
 
  SEVIC and other updates from International Student Services
  ISS has been dealing with Visa delays; security issues, background checks; new regulations-constantly. Discussion of the information that is required to submit within 21 days. Responsibility is on the international student.

  Distance Education Website
  The plan is to have the web site up and running in January. The URL will be shared so that schools and colleges can provide a link to the site from their home pages. Accessing the site is generating a few questions.
 
  Grade Changes
  Question to see if Department Chair's signature was needed on grade change form. Reviewed audits on the procdure of 1981, 1985, and 1990. All grade changes should be reviewed by the Dean's Office so the Registrar's Office knows it went through process.
 
  National Clearinghouse
  There has been a national clearinghouse for employers to ask about degrees. The Registrar's Office will verify the dgrees but will refer them to the clearinghouse in the future.
 
  Holds
  If there are future holds, it tells the students why in ISIS.

  UW Connections
  Review of the program's history: Students are invited to joing the Connections Program by the Undergrad Admissions Office. They are students who were denied due to enrollment limits.
 
  Late Enrollment Fee
  Late initial enrollment fee description and procedures handout. The word initial was confusing. This policy only affects students enrolling in their first class late, not merely adding an additional class to their existing program.
 
  DR/W deadline
  Discussed ideas about changing the DR/W deadline to involve a financial deadline. A committee was formed to look into changing the DR/W deadline.
 
  Printed Timetables
  Discussion of reducing the number of printed Timetables and encouraging students to use the electronic Timetable on the web.
 
  Service Indicators
  Dean's Office and Medical Certifications Service Indicators: New Enrollment Holds for the Dean's Office will include holds that can be used in place of the Advisor hold to more accurately convey the purpose of the hold.
 
  Student Hourly Security Policy
  Coding to allow a person's acess to ISIS to be restricted to certain computers is underway. ICCC will be providing input to the ISIS Security committee to outline a student hourly security policy.

  Advisor
  Audits are run to determine where the posting advisors in ISIS.
 
  Study Abroad
  Discussed the insurance policy madated by the US System for all students, including Study Abroad students. An Ad Hoc committee was formed.

  Diplomas
  Effective with the May 2003 commencement, the150th University commencement, there will be a new larger University diploma. There will be a process for former graduates to order the larger diploma.
 
  Transcripts
  There are some transcript changes that involve displaying the dates of the term on the transcript, as was done previously for summer sessions. See hand out from Jim Steele.
 
  ISIS 8.0 Upgrade
  The status report is very good and on schedule. ISIS team is working on a draft communication to students re: non-availability during week- starting July 27-that ISIS is down. Additional access and security issues were discussed.
 
  Query Library
  Kathy Luker discussed access to the data and query library. The Human Resources category is now available. Kathy handed out information about statistics for usage this spring term and about Query Library training classes implemented.
 
  ICCC issues, 8.0 Upgrade,ISIS Upgrade
  ICCC is discussing technical and policy issues affecting the 8.0 Upgrade. There are new reporting requirements for international students. There may be significant changes in the new regulations and requirements international students.

  Advisor
  Schools and colleges are responsible for inputting advisors and keeping the records accurate. The registrar’s office has the custodial and audit responsibility.
 
  Web Enrollment, touchtone registration
  Web enrollment for graduate students began April 1 without problems. Joanne is asking all staff to support enrollment via the web. Touchtone registration (IVR) is still available for a limited time but web is preferable.
 
  Regent's freeze on admissions
  Processing of resident applicants invited to join the UW-Madison Connections program can be resumed, as can re-entry, Articulation Agreement and Guarantee Transfer Program applicants. Completion of admission of non-resident applications is resumed.

  Study Abroad
  Joan Raducha announced a refund policy, approved by the Provost, for students studying abroad. Copies of the policy are available from Joan for use as guidelines.
 
  Query Library
  List of requested queries of the Query Library were discussed. Color-coded charts show items already in place, those being tested, items DoIT is working on, and a list of reports needed. One chart shows queries in production and testing timeframes.
 
  Authorization for Data Access Pilot
  Flow chart showing the authorization process for INFOACCESS was distributed. Process for authorization and access discussed.
 
  Credit Outreach Courses
  Roger Maclean, from the Division of Continuing Studies, provided handouts and a review of “nontraditional” students taking credit outreach courses on or off campus.
 
  Web enrollment
  Beginning January 14 all juniors, students in the college of Ag and Life Sciences and on January 17 University Special/Guest Students will be able to use web enrollment. There will be a pilot of 10,503 students.

  Distance Education Report
  Sharon Nellis reported that the edits for the second reading have been received and requested any further feedback. The Distance Education Report was accepted by the Council and Sharon will forward it to John Torphy.
 
  Electronic Grade Reporting
  On behalf of the Subcommittee on Electronic Grade Reporting, Susan Hyland submitted a report to AAC. The report contains positive feedback from the units using the pilot program. Discussion followed regarding moving forward.
 
  Advisor
  Sharon Nellis reports that the Office of Quality Improvement has agreed to facilitate the process to make corrections in the advisor data in ISIS. An AAC representative or designee from each school or college plus the Graduate School be involved.
 
  Military Service Policy
  Provost Spear gave an overview of the Military Service Policy. AAC reviewed and supported the policy.
 
  Students who feel lost
  The first issue concerns students who feel lost at the University, in spite of our world-class faculty and opportunities. The plans efforts to improve the student experience include residential learning programs with smaller classes for freshmen.
 
  Faculty Salaries
  He cited the quality of our faculty, noting that salaries are below peer group averages. He vowed to work on salary structure with the legislature.
 
  Facilities
  In reference to our facilities, Spear spoke of improvements needed in addition to the $1 billion projects currently in progress.
 
  Diversity
  Diversity is the fourth issue, with retention of students and faculty and staff as a priority.
 
  Climate
  The fifth issue is that of “climate,” a term that is hard to define. The goal is to make improvements in the atmosphere of respect and security affecting everyone at the University.
 
  UW-Connections
  In the third week of February, selected students in the hold eligible pool will be offered admission via the UW Connections Program. This 2000-01 year, 25 students are enrolled in UW connections.

  Military Duty Call Up Policy
  Draft of the Military Service document regarding withdrawal, selective drops, incompletes and final grades.
 
  ISIS Upgrade
  ISIS 8.0 Upgrade Timing. Summer 2002 was determined to be the best time to upgrade.
 
  eCAT, My UW, registration
  My UW is now available to every student. Web registration will be live for CALS juniors this registration period. If pilot is successful, web registration will be available for all students for spring. All email will be changed to web based.
 
  Military Service Policy
  Edits to the Military Service Policy were discussed.
 
  Financial Aid, Military Service Call Up
  New financial aid rules show forbearance and that death or total disability is a basis for discharge of debt. Upon activation or reassignment of a unit, deferment with grace period applies and students have that status for 3 years.
 
  Distance Education
  A Distance Education document draft was submitted. The aim was to make establishing a Distance Education course easier, to answer questions and to give guidelines.

  Council on Academic Advising
  There is a need for record integrity. Training may need to be provided in order to learn how to use the panels correctly. Continuation to work toward a campus-wide process for data entry to advisor's names.
 
  ICCC, ICCC Update
  Overlap courses have been noted and the report is ready. Potential overlaps and repeats will be tracked. Certification for spring eligibility for althetes is priority. It would be helpful if a warning appeared if students duplicate a course.
 
  Military Call up
  2 handouts concerning military call up. Issues addressed were loan grace periods, deferments, and withdraway/drop policies.
 
  ISIS, ISIS Panels, FIGS
  Overview of Freshman Interest Groups (FIGS) for summer 2001. Difficulties in registration and holding classes for specific students. Administrative hurdles were discussed. A group is established to define linked registration & FIGS definitions.

  OLAP, Online Analytical Process
  Demonstration of preliminary results for the Online Analytical Process. It is designed to provide history rather than the most current information. Plans to have data refreshed 1-2 times a semester.
 
  New Data Views
  Student Multi-term data views is moving into production. It can query alumni data.

  Grade Reports
  Propose to discontinue mailing grades to students. Grades would be available on EASI or MY UW and on the touchtone system. Will provide a printable web page that looks like the existing grade reprot. This will save $13,600 postage, plus labor & paper.
 
  Degree Credit
  Discussion about the mechanics of delivered Peoplesoft vs. previous methods and repeatable and nonrepeatable course definition. Need accurate reports for coding for DARS. Transcript needs to reflect actual work on campus.
 
  Online Electronic Grade Submission,
  The pilot in Nursing was successful. 7 professors reported grades for 27 courses. No negatives observed. Need to determine distributing grade rosters, grading online, how to handle some participating and others not, and archiving.

  LINKS is designed for the College of Engineering to link students taking "paired" courses with other frehsmen Engineering students. The ISIS "block scheduling" capability will be used to keep students in both courses.

  Vice Chancellor Kearl approves the appointment of a Committee on Placement Testing and Evaluation

  Recruitment and Public Information
  Interviews are taking place to help gather information to prepare a response to the UW System Task Force on Recruitment and Public Information.
 
  Placement Testing; Advising; Testing
  A committee needs to be established regarding Placement, Advising and Testing. Discussions of who is in charge of the testing, how the information is used, problems and concerns about the results and use of the results.
 
  University Extension
  The services of University Extension would be communicated with various instrucational units. Services that had been free will no longer be free.
 
  Course Drops; Withdrawals
  Data processing equipment will be able to start processing course drops and withdrawals on transcripts as soon as fall 1981. The handling of modular courses as drops or withdrawals is yet to be determined.

  Bulk Mailing
  A part-time student has been managing the Center. The sub-committee is not ready to make a full report with recommendations, they would like to have a full-time employee managing the Center.
 
  Service Courses and Instruction for Non-Majors
  The provisional policy is a reasoned position due to constrained resources, but the shopper is negatively affected. The provisional policy is for undergraduate students and does not speak to the special student. This causes issues.

  Examination Conflicts; Extended Timetable
  Discussion regarding the paper Examination Conflicts and Extended Timetable. The paper was distributed during the October meeting. It is suggested that the Instructional Space Office have say in scheduling rooms for exams.
 
  Advising Students - Educational Options
  "And Now What" was distributed at the October meeting. Sophoore year is when students should look at alternative choices and/or a second field. There should be a place where students receive counseling in alternatives at a central place.
 
  Bulk Mailing
  The bulk mailing sub-committee reported after review of the site and its staffing. There is concerned of the Center's ability to respond to student queries for bulletins and related material.
 
  Drops
  A suggestion of posting drops on the permanent record after the second week of classes and that students not be permitted to change to audit after the second week of classes. Tabled the discussion.

  Enrollment Limitations
  Engineering has developed enrollment restrictions. The limitations have effected transfers. There is concern that students aren't informed in a timely manner or that the lower enrollment doesn't allow course requirements to be met.
 
  Prospective Students
  Two changes how we approach prospective students. There will be less travel and more direct mail. The bulletin will be automatically sent.
